Who cares, man. Most of the lasses who go on Mock are awful anyway and make me lose further connection with the rest of the female population. There’s only been one or two who have genuinely seemed to be close to being on the same level as the guys (I’m being generous). Perhaps they don’t get that many women on because not a great number of female comedians are really that good?
I’m not very loyal to my own sex, but, w/e. Perhaps a part of me is just bitter that they’ve somehow cracked their way into the comedy circuit and I haven’t, but, W/E.
get tae fuck
Admittedly there haven’t been that many women who’ve excelled on Mock the Week, but don’t let that mar your opinion of female comedians in general (talking more to ‘my-execution’ and the general collective male/some female consciousness)
Of course, absolutely not - there are some good female comics out there. Just the focus was on Mock and, as you said, there haven’t been many on that show which have seemed to excel.
That said, though, I don’t think there are a huge number of good female comics on the circuit, particularly compared to guys, but tastes in comedy are entirely subjective anyway and vary from person to person, so what do I know? Nothing.
Yeah I don’t know what it is about Mock that makes it so male-friendly, as opposed to say QI. Maybe a bit too back-bitey? Who knows. I must admit though that there aren’t a great many female comedians who I’m a big fan of. Short of Josie Long, Tina Fey and a few others. I do feel like that’s my fault/problem though, rather than theirs.
